After a period of rest, reflection and transformation, Pulled Apart By Horses have released their long-awaited fifth studio album, ‘Reality Cheques’ through Alcopop! Records. Demonstrating a leaner sound now stripped to the raw elements. The most significant change to the band’s approach sees Hudson ditching his guitar and focusing solely on vocals. Distilling their lineup to a singular guitar, bass and drums engaged the band in a focused, vital new feel.
Commenting on the new approach, vocalist Tom Hudson says: “The fat was trimmed! We spent months playing the songs in our practice space and on an ‘up close and personal’ UK tour to set them in stone. We then headed to the Nave Studios straight off the back of that tour and captured the tracks live, tour tight and locked in!”
Featuring frenetic live recordings from The Nave and vocals captured at band HQ, Role Model Sound, Reality Cheques was co-produced by Pulled Apart By Horses and Matt Peel (Traams, Menace Beach, Eagulls, Mush). John Davis (Led Zeppelin, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Blur) took care of mastering at Metropolis, London.
